I’ll start the year with admissions. I’m not good at keeping a schedule for things like a blog. I take on too many projects and then shift focus too frequently to keep the plates spinning. But, as so many other fools do this time of the year, I’m going to attempt to shape up. I will *try* to post an article once a week. On Tuesdays. Maybe.*
So what have I been up to? Well, quite a bit. So I purchased a 3d printer and…hey, no, don’t leave I swear this is interesting. I’ve been using it to develop new rubber products. The Bazooka Mouth was a neat part to make and while it was fun, it mostly worked as me testing a total process. That process will allow me to quickly and cheaply create custom parts from rubber and boy do I have some ideas. Now some of these products will require some extensive testing but most will be simple parts and will be coming to the store pretty quickly.
Oh that’s right, I’ll be opening up the store finally. It’s been integrated into the site for a while but with the inventory set to 0 and one part it mostly just been a place holder. So be on the lookout for new, neat stuff. That you can buy, from me. Which I will love when you do as long as you review it kindly.
I still haven’t finished the top speed version of the race hobbit. But I’m working on it and have made plans to transport it to a place to actually top it out. And after that I plan on building a completely new frame for it. The current one is pretty heavy and not geometrically ideal so gonna try a new one I have the new frame already but gonna be a bit of work to get that finished. The race Tomos is also already well into it’s next version so get excited about that too. Plus I’ll be building a ZA50 Magnum to race in the non-variated class. Gonna try to take every class next year is what I’m saying.
I have other bikes too! I even plan to make them work at some point. Or at least talk about them more. Like my absolute hatred of the scam they called the Kamasura! Or that Spanish Motobecane I ride around that is probably too rare to ride like I do but is still worth no dollars because it’s a moped so I don’t care. Or those two manual shift Motobecanes I have and how I might make them run. Or maybe I’ll just write 10 more articles about a stock tomos.
I will also be doing coverage for the Baker’s Dozen Run again this year. It’s going to be a great run this year from Omaha to Portland, OR through some of the roughest elevation changes and long days they have suffered yet. It’s going to make great copy is what I’m saying. So stay tuned for that.
I’ll be helping the Spicy Boys put on their spicy rally this year as well. I’m pretty sure rallies are still legally allowed to happen. And if they aren’t then I’ll be helping with an illegal rally. Either way there will be a rally. And you, you dear reader specifically, should come to it. Whenever it is, which I don’t know.
There are plenty of other things I’m working on too, but I’m going to try not to get too far ahead of myself in case I don’t finish them or even worse, they don’t work. Mostly I hope I can remember to take pictures this year. See you next week!
